Whilst requesting this months Full Leicester City Council meeting to be postponed due to the current heightened health grounds concerning the Covid-19 pandemic/ public health emergency and the announcement the previous evening to avoid non-essential contact which was refused; Aylestone Ward Councillor Nigel Porter did succeed in removing from the Council Agenda debating a potential 4% increase in allowances.

Councillor Porter said "it was not on in the current climate to debate increasing the City Mayors salary by around 4% when a mulitutde of ordinary workers possibly without a viable income. Its totally ridiculous, as if the Mayors proposed pay increase is such a burning priority."
