Presenting our Vision for Leicestershire!

Health Minister Norman Lamb came to Hinckley today to launch our Manifesto for the 2013 County Council elections.

The last four years have seen the Tories make a mess of things.
Reckless approaches schools and education, the careless giving away of care homes without proper consultation, a complete lack of ideas in addressing the needs of the local economy and some serious scandals from senior members in the Conservative cabinet. They even had a leader being forced to step down due to severe abuse of expenses.

There's no sign of lessons being learnt. They still make decisions behind closed doors, still haven't put in reforms to prevent these scandals happening again and still lack the imagination to truly take on the challenges that the Leicestershire County Council faces.

Leicestershire needs a fresh start with a fresh vision.
That's why we've put together a plan that focuses on the key challenges that Leicestershire County Council Faces:

  • Protecting our services despite difficult circumstances.
  • Boosting the economy to increase prosperity and the number of jobs in Leicestershire.
  • Improving the services people depend upon.
  • Reforming the way politics is done to ensure better decision making, to ensure residents are listened to properly and to prevent some of the scandals over the last few years from happening again!

That's what we hope to deliver for Leicestershire and that's why we'll be counting on your vote on 2nd May.
