In Britain today there is no ceiling on the amount that lenders can charge for credit.

Freemen Ward Councillor Dale Keeling is urging people to sign the on line petition against Legal Loan Sharks.

In Britain today there is no ceiling on the amount that lenders can charge for credit. The UK's poorest pay the highest price for credit in Europe and some lenders are charging the equivalent of 3000% APR. This is legal loan sharking.

Dale Keeling said, "There is a coalition of campaigners, citizens groups and MPs from all parties that have echoed the call to an end to legal loan sharking. If you would like to help, please sign the on-line petition."
