Council Paid Out £3000 in Compensation
Compensation has been paid to some residents by the Labour run Leicester City Council for not dealing with their complaints.
The Local Government Ombudsman investigated 73 complaints in the last financial year, 18 resulted in the ombudsman deciding that a cash settlement had to be agreed. Complaints received by the Ombudsman ranged from delayed housing repairs to more serious complaints of not dealing with anti social behaviour issues.
If you have a complaint about Leicester City Council, the first thing to do is complain to the council. In most cases, the council must have a chance to sort out the complaint before it can be passed to the Ombudsman.
