Leicester will lose the Energy Advice Centre

The Energy Advice Centre on Market Street South.
The Labour-run City Council will close the Energy Advice Centre in Market Place south following a cut in funding.
Lib Dem council leader Peter Coley said, "This is a very serious cut for Leicester which claims to be Britain's first Environment City. The government have set itself a target of reducing CO2 emissions by 60% by the year 2050 but most of the houses will be living in by then are already standing. Leicester has a mixture of mainly 19th & 20th century properties which will all need major improvements to have any hope of saving that amount of energy." He added that It is ironic that Labour are pulling the plug on energy advice in the City at this time rather than further promoting ways which we can save energy.
Leicester Lib Dems have protested against the closure.
