People Centre Now Open!

Councillor Hussein Suleman cut the yellow ribbon to declare the People Centre open!
The official opening of EVINGTON ROAD PEOPLE CENTRE and the South Highfields branch of CLOCKWISE CREDIT UNION took place at 73 Evington Road late February.
This pioneer People Centre is organised and run by volunteers from local community groups. Without tremendous & finance support from the Stoneygate & Spinney Hill Area Committee - your local councillors the progress so far would not have been possible. We are also pleased to have a range of professional allies who plan to provide some specialist advice at particular times.
The Centre will provide a local 'one stop' information point, a place for local groups to meet, a venue for councillor & police surgeries, a 'users club' for members of local community groups in Spinney Hills & Stoneygate Wards and a savings and loans desk for Clockwise Credit Union - we aim to beat the loan sharks!
