Green Flag Awards for Leicester Parks

Leicester City Council is celebrating national Green Flag Awards for four city parks, following over £170,000 of improvements. Evington Park, Knighton Park and Watermead Country Park have all achieved the Green Flag standard for the first time. Abbey Park has received the award for the 4th consecutive year.
Cllr Roger Blackmore, leader of the council said: "I am absolutely delighted with these awards, "This demonstrates convincingly how effective the new investment put into parks, gardens and playgrounds by the incoming Lib Dem led administration in its first budget had been".
